What We Do

'What We Do' is a short film written and directed by Lee Booker. The film follows Carly, a young and newly trained Emergency Medical Dispatcher who finds herself struggling to balance the pressures of her job.

Also starring David Allan Pearson, Jillian Fargey, Al-Hasan Mohamad, Nina Winkler,  Nadya Debogorski, Rowan Jang, Arthur MacKinnon, and Dakota Vegh.

'What We Do' was developed as a Unique Works presentation for the 2017 Fufilling Young Artists Program, led by Sage Brocklebank and Patrick Sabongui in Vancouver, BC. It is a mentorship program that pairs young actors with seasoned professionals for several months, meeting for monthly forums and ending with the 'Unique Works Gala' at CBC Studios.
The film includes both mentors and mentees from the 2017 program and was filmed in two days. The original screening of the film was presented with the two composers (Lee Booker and Al-Hasan Mohamad) adding to the soundtrack with live guitar and piano.
